Google The New OS?

Posted By tbrillon

Does Microsoft secretly fear Google?
After watching the news and reading articles about companies like Google and Microsoft, I am now pretty confident of the reason MS is fearing Google.

With the onslaught of popular Google tools like Gmail, Docs, Photos and Calendar, who wouldn't be? Google has more tentacles than ten squids and from the looks of it, there is no stopping the mammoth sized machine.

Early in 2007 Google began chipping away at the enterprise level of mail by offering "
Google Apps". This poses as a serious threat to the MS Enterprise Server offering when you begin look at the costs associated with buying licensing and paying a team to run it.

Google outshines and outwits MS on nearly every level. Why else would MS want to buy Yahoo? Without a large presence on the internet they will have some trouble keeping up as I feel that Google is setting its sights high enough to actually replace the software giant in the future.

Yes. I said it. Google is slowing but surely making everything available online. Why do I need to pay for MS Office when I have Google Docs? Lets face it - in a decade or so, Google could be pumping out PCs with just enough OS on them to boot up to Google.com. Microsoft needs to wake up. But then again it might already be to late....

2.0 Beta up and going

Posted By tbrillon

The 2.0 beta is now open and going strong. If you'd like to get in on the testing, sign up for our news letter over on the index of taskdriver.com. We will be sending invitations out to our news letter participants on a weekly basis until all are notified. The beta is going well so why not sign up?

On another note, Joel and I have been discussing an idea he had about creating a widget for FaceBook and MySpace users. The plugin would allow TaskDriver users to access their projects and tasks from the FaceBook and MySpace sites. Its really a good idea and really doesn't seem like much effort is involved. More on this a little later.

Our staff is growing! You will soon see another programmer that has joined our team. His name is Cole Diffin and will be starting with us soon.

Gotta run for now - God Bless
